We were really delighted to pick up one of the top awards of the evening, for the Best New Concept, an award that encompasses the whole packaging industry, not only flexible packaging.
The glitzy Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane in London was the venue, the great and good of the packaging industry were on hand, along with guests from retailers, brand owners and food manufacturers of all types.
The FFP entry, Estercook cook in the bag pouch, has a lot going for it - it replaces a more traditional tray/lid sleeve pack for ready meal packaging, reducing pack complexity from three components to one, while at the same time reducing pack weight from around 30 - 34g right down to 8g, with savings throughout the supply chain - less space needed in the warehouse, fewer vehicle movements, simplified stocking strategy.
There are advantages on-shelf too. The vertical presentation gives new opportunities for merchandising and maximises available pack frontage for designs that leap off the shelf.
David Cooper, Managing Director at FFP said;
‘Bringing new and innovative solutions to market quickly is exactly where FFP is at its strongest. Winning the Best New Concept at this years UK Packaging Awards is prestigious and demonstrates FFP’s market leading position as innovators of flexible packaging solutions. This award provides well deserved recognition to our expert team at FFP who have contributed to the development of this great product.’
