News: FFP Papertouch Paper look film

FFP Packaging Solutions has completed a major project for J Sainsbury’s baked goods range. These “papertouch” effect packs are the result of an innovation that brings the traditional bakery bag bang up to date, emphasising traditional product quality while at the same time giving all the production benefits of a modern high performance film pack. There are 41 designs in the range, with production spread across three food manufacturers.

The amazing paperlike finish is achieved using a combination of high quality flexo print with multiple lacquer coats. Ink and coatings are all applied in line on an eight colour wide web flexo press.

The packaging is supplied on a reel ready to run with no modification required to standard flow-wrap machinery.

FFP’s papertouch packaging meets environmental criteria too, reducing the amount of packaging required to achieve this effect and removing paper from the construction, meaning that discarded packaging is not classified as a “mixed material” for recycling purposes.
