News: Estersteam Steam Valve Microwave lidding

FFP announce the launch of Estersteam, a lidding steam and pressure cook solution for microwave ready meals and a new addition to their market-leading Esterpeel lidding film range.
Estersteam lidding film incorporates a special estersteam valve, automatically venting part way through the cook cycle to allow the steam that comes from the product to escape. During the early part of the cook process, before the valve opens, the pack works like a pressure cooker, maintaining flavour and colour. The valve opens after a time to relieve the pressure and to finish the cooking cycle. Food cooked in the estersteam pack remains moist and succulent, improving quality as well as adding convenience. All types of microwaveable ready meals and vegetable portions may be packed using estersteam.

From a production perspective, the estersteam valve does not affect the way the film runs at all, so production efficiencies are not affected. In addition, because the estesteam valve is pre-applied, the system is versatile, running on any lidding line that can run registered film. Estersteam is available to suit any commonly used tray type.
