FFP Packaging Solutions was overjoyed to take top prize at the EFIA print Awards 2020, winning ‘Best in Show’ for its Juicy Meat Company Large Beef Easy Cook Pouch. The night of achievement didn’t stop there, with FFP bringing home an incredible total of five awards made up of three Gold, one Silver and a Bronze.
The annual EFIA Print Awards are one of the most prestigious award evenings in the flexo calendar and plays host to the brightest and best across the flexo packaging industry, highlighting print quality, efficiency, innovation, sustainability and technical development. The ceremony took place virtually this year due to Covid-19 but was superbly organised and came live from Sterling Studios hosted by BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt.
FFP’s dedication, innovative approach and outstanding print capabilities was rewarded in the category of ‘Flexo print on film – Reverse print wide’ with FFP taking home both the Gold and Bronze awards. The Gold award was in recognition of their Juicy Meat Company Large Beef Easy Cook Pouch, which then went on to win the top prize of the evening; the coveted ‘Best in Show’.
A further Gold was achieved as a result of FFP’s dedication and commitment to developing sustainable packaging solutions, with Esterseal winning the top spot in the Environmental and Sustainability category. Esterseal is a major development in sustainable packaging, providing a resealable PET lidding film that has been designed to be used with a PET tray to produce the first resealable pack in the UK to be classified as ‘Recycle’ by OPRL and can be collected in its entirety through the existing waste collection system.
The Silver award came from FFP’s print of the Juicy Meat Company Slow & Easy Cook Lamb in the ‘Use of Flexo for brands & retailers’ category. Commenting on the Awards, David Cooper, FFP’s MD and CEO said;
“I’m absolutely thrilled and extremely proud of the entire team at FFP. These awards mean so much as they are judged by the industry and are fantastic recognition of the outstanding work FFP has produced and a reflection of how we continually push the boundaries of flexo print technology.”
